NFSA Full Time Training

North Florida Soccer Academy aims to fill the gap that has appeared and widened in youth soccer over the past decade. For many players, traditional club soccer no longer does the job of educating and preparing players to go on to play and succeed at the collegiate level. So, our approach is a little different at NFSA. Having worked in club soccer for over 30 years, Founder Mike Pickett has a few areas where NFSA strives to be different.

  1. COST: we are NOT A CLUB. There are no uniform fees, facility fees, league fees, referee fees, preseason camp fees, coaching mileage fees, stay to play tournaments, etc. that appear on top of our cost. Being a member of our full time training group has a single monthly cost.

  2. TRAINING: We focus intensely on improving players technical ability as well as their tactical awareness. We train 4 days a week from March-October on position specific training (including a full-time goalkeeper coach).

  3. COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT: We do not require our players to be college bound or even aspire to play college soccer. Some don’t, and that’s completely fine. However, we do require all our players to be willing to commit to and compete at an intense level. Since the majority of our games are against college programs, our players are given a challenge higher than any youth league can offer.

  4. COLLEGE PREP: Our end goal for our college bound players is not their commitment to a school, but rather having them be successful and being an impact on their programs once they arrive on campus. Mike Pickett has a vast network of college coaches and a proven record of helping players successfully “make it” in the college game (and beyond!). Our staff is equipped with the experience and knowledge to help players navigate every part of the college recruiting admission cycle.

We are a full-time training academy, with a staff 100% committed to our group of players achieving their goals, whether that be getting on the field in their college program or making the varsity team at their high school.

We provide our players with every tool they need to be successful: technical training, tactical coaching, college counseling, recruiting guidance, and video analysis.

Finally, we are the only youth soccer organization in the state of Florida who regularly plays matches against collegiate programs. These games fall during spring exhibition and fall preseason schedules for the college teams, as per NCAA regulation, but our trusted partnerships with these schools provide

  • a chance for our players to be seen directly by college coaches

  • truly get a sense of what the pace and physicality of college soccer is like

  • get valuable game film against college players to add to their recruiting portfolio

WHO IS NFSA FOR?

We are not the best fit for every soccer player, however, if you are a player who:

  • Is serious about playing at the college level and needs recruiting help

  • Has already committed to a school and needs a higher level of consistent training

  • Is a high school player looking to improve their minutes on their varsity team

  • Is a current college player looking to train over the summer months/winter break.
